I graduated with a Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) / Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Teaching from the University of Newcastle (Central Coast) in 2014. I was also awarded the 2014 Faculty Medal by the Faculty of Education and the Arts, and was selected to write and deliver the Graduate Address for my cohort's graduation ceremony. I am grappling with the various education revolutions that are occurring across pedagogy and curriculum and wanted a central repository for my blog, various teaching resources and my flipped learning content, rather than being spread multiple sites. I achieved Level I Flipped Learning Certification in January 2017.
Blogging is my method of reflecting on my own pedagogy, of talking about research that excites, inspires or challenges me, and as my career progresses, about research that I undertake. My current interests revolve around initial teacher education, ICT in education, flipped learning, and education research. The resources I will upload over time will be across a range of learning areas and topics, but will usually be within the Kindergarten to Year Six.
Outside of the education space, I married Mrs. C21 in 2012 and we welcomed our first child in late 2016. I am heavily involved in football (soccer) as a Referee (Level Two Theory), Referee Assessor (Level Three), and a Referee Instructor (Level Three). I referee at the Northern League One Reserve Grade and National Premier League Third Grade levels with Northern NSW Football and give back to football by providing coaching and mentoring to young referees both within my Referee branch and through Capital Football's annual tournament, Kanga Cup.
